A letter from Marilyn Akers Stansbury, IECRM CEO

Throughout 2019, I have kicked off several meetings and presentations with a quote pulled from a daily calendar I received from one of our IECRM contractor members. For whatever reason, I have found these quotes to really resonate with the topic being presented and have had fun sharing them with audiences and the IECRM team. In this month’s Gratitude issue, I have the opportunity to share with you the upcoming daily quote from the calendar for Thanksgiving:

Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.

 – Zig Ziglar

And grateful is exactly how I feel about this fall which has already been exciting and activity-filled for IECRM!  In early October, IECRM had a large turnout of members and partners in attendance at IEC-CON, the national convention, where the chapter and our members were recognized with 12 major awards, including contractor projects, individual achievements and chapter recognition for the IECRM apprenticeship program, legislative advocacy and leadership.  Our members are represented on the IEC National Board and engaged in committees throughout the national association.

The Annual State of the Industry Business Dinner was held on October 24th where members elected the 2020 Board of Directors, shared successes with colleagues and heard from the Colorado Chamber on the state of industry in Colorado. I am grateful to the entire IECRM Board of Directors and the amazing staff team at IECRM for hosting an amazing evening to celebrate the industry and set the tone for a wonderful end of 2019.

As we move into November, there is even more to express gratitude for! Mark your calendars for November 11th-15th, to celebrate the fifth annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) across the country and here at IECRM through a weeklong celebration that highlights the benefits of apprenticeship in preparing a highly-skilled workforce to meet the talent needs of employers across diverse industries. Check out the story in this E-News for more information and a schedule of activities. And let us know if you are doing something as a company to celebrate!

I am also grateful for the voices we have to educate, inform and influence policy that impacts the electrical industry. Please attend the Quarterly Member Luncheon on November 14th as we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week and kick off the issues we need to follow in the upcoming legislative session and election year so we can make those voices stronger.

Make plans to participate during IECRM’s third appearance in the 9NEWS Parade of Lights the first weekend of December. The IECRM award-winning Sparkling Ice Castle of the Future float will include a few updates to the LED technology and added new touches. Click here for more information and or to sign up.

To participate, you can walk, party, sponsor or all three! In addition to the float’s appearance in the parade, all IECRM members, apprentices, friends, and family are invited to the IECRM Holiday Parade Party downtown on December 6th. Cheer on the IECRM float from the brand new Tru by Hilton, with direct indoor and outdoor views of the parade. If you are running out of time and ideas for your company’s annual holiday party, consider making OUR Holiday Party YOUR Holiday Party. We’ll do the planning for the delicious menu, kids activities, entertainment, parking, cash bar, and even great hotel room rates. Bring your employees and their spouses and families and let’s celebrate together!

Yes, my heart has been full of gratitude this fall and I am thankful to every contractor, industry partner, apprentice, and team member for making that so…

Enjoy the coming season,

Marilyn

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy

We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.

● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
