In 2018, the IECRM Board of Directors established a strategic Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) initiative to build on our previous and existing efforts and that of the apprenticeship program to attract, recruit, retain and sustain a diverse and inclusive membership and apprenticeship community for the electrical contracting industry.
IECRM is committed to increasing diversity of people, ideas, and beliefs and building an inclusive environment. We accomplish this by developing and implementing a strategic plan that recognizes the broad range of interests, experiences, values and cultural richness that define our country, industry and the IECRM community.
The initiative was developed as part of the association’s strategic plan to expand on the great work of the Veterans Committee and enhance existing outreach, further aligning IECRM’s workforce development goals.
IECRM Board member Leighland Gutierrez with Courtesy Electric will serve as the committee chair. The committee will hold its first meeting in January 2019.
We are seeking volunteers for the newly formed committee to guide the action plan. The committee charter details the structure of this new committee and the roles and responsibilities of its members.
