Grab a holiday treat and enjoy this month’s eNews!
November is a very special time of the year. November brings Thanksgiving and reminds us all to share thanks and count blessings. In November we also begin the ‘Season of Giving’ and the December holidays follow.
2018 was a terrific year for IECRM, and I am grateful for our dedicated members, engaged partners, wonderful staff, and eager apprentices.
Earlier this month, we held our annual State of the Industry Business dinner and reported that IECRM and its apprentice-training program have had a year of significant growth. A full recap of my report at the dinner is here. A few 2018 statistics to note, however are (1) a 10% increase in contractor membership; (2) a record-topping 1,883 apprentices enrolled; (3) 42 instructors and the need to hire more; (3) amazing awards recognition at IEC-CON in September including the Apprentice of the Year; (4) and impressive national leadership recognition among our contractor members, professional partners, and emerging leaders.
This coming Friday, November 30th, IECRM members, apprentices, alumni, spouses, children, and friends are invited to our Family-Friendly Holiday Party, coinciding with the LIVE broadcast of the 44th Annual 9NEWS Parade of Lights, where IECRM’s Sparkling Ice Castle float will make its repeat performance! Skip the line at the Mall and join special guests this year, Santa and the lovely Mrs. Claus. It’s not too late to register for this fun and warm way to celebrate the holidays and view the parade with prepaid parking. Tickets and more information are available here.
December is IECRM Social Media month and on our list for Santa are year-end Google reviews, more “likes” and “Followers” on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Instagram.
Another gift we’ve whispered in Santa’s ear and told the Elves about is to be able to see and share all the holiday fun through photos and images from IECRM events and the celebrations held by our members, partners, staff and apprentices. Wear an ugly Christmas sweater on December 21st (Ugly Christmas Sweater Day) or anytime during the month and share those images with us. They are always great fun and good for a few Santa-like belly laughs.
In 2019, we will strive to build on our success and aspire to make our initiatives and programs even more inspiring and impactful.
Wishing you the happiness of good friends, the joy of a happy family, and the wonder of the holiday season!
