IECRM News!

September and October have been exciting and accomplishment-filled months for IECRM. In case you missed it, in September we won 13 major awards at IEC-CON! Last week, we added another honor – the City of Northglenn’s Game Changer “Community Spirit Award, presented to our team and several board members, during Northglenn’s Business Appreciation Breakfast in recognition of IECRM’s community and corporate contributions.

October also was Construction Careers Month. With an official proclamation, Governor Hickenlooper recognized the need to increase public awareness and appreciation of construction craft professionals, and the entire construction workforce, by backing all of the industry’s workforce development efforts.

National Cyber Security Awareness Month was also observed in October to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity, reaching out to all Americans, public and private sector partners, and the international community about cyber threats. Closer to home, and in keeping with Halloween, IECRM held a cybersecurity best practices and tips seminar on October 4th for staying safe online. If you couldn’t attend, read the story about the seminar and the key takeaways from it.

As we move into November, we remember all that we are thankful for and we celebrate what IECRM members and partners are all about – industry excellence, training and apprenticeships. Mark your calendars for November 12-16, to celebrate the fourth annual National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) across the country and especially here in Colorado. IECRM will observe NAW through a weeklong celebration that highlights the benefits of apprenticeship in preparing a highly skilled workforce to meet the talent needs of employers across diverse industries. Check out the story in this E-News for more information and a schedule of activities.

Our Annual Business Dinner is on Thursday, November 8th at the stunning Wellshire Inn and Event Center. Early bird pricing for tickets ends tomorrow! Click here to register. Joining us as a very special guest and keynote speaker is Gregg Moss, president and CEO of the Metro North Chamber of Commerce and well known host on 9NEWS. This event brings together the full spectrum of IECRM members for a State of IECRM and State of the Industry presentation, and the Board of Directors elections.  You will be receiving your ballots shortly for online voting through Tuesday, November 6 (one vote per member or partner company) or join us at dinner to cast your ballot.

IECRM will again participate in the 9NEWS Parade of Lights with the award-winning Sparkling Ice Castle Float this year! In addition to the Float’s appearance in the Parade, all IECRM members, apprentices, friends and family are invited to the IECRM Holiday Parade Party on Friday, November 30th, to cheer on the IECRM float from the beautiful Hyatt Regency, with direct indoor and outdoor views of the Parade. Are you running out of time and ideas for your company’s annual holiday party? Consider making our Holiday Party YOUR Holiday Party. We’ll do the planning for the delicious menu, kids activities, entertainment, parking, cash bar, and even great hotel room rates. Bring your employees and their spouses and families and let’s celebrate together!

Between now and year’s end, you can expect IECRM to have a high profile in the community. We’ll be actively communicating about the benefits of apprenticeships and importance of skilled trades, especially electricians, to the health of the construction industry in Colorado. It’s an exciting time to be in the electrical contracting and renewable energy industry!

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)
