Denver, CO — Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain proudly recognizes APCO Electric as the recipient of the 2026 Historic Preservation & Renovation Award during the 20th Annual Summit Awards held April 16, 2026, at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.
Presented annually, the IECRM Summit Awards celebrate excellence across the electrical construction industry, honoring companies, projects, and individuals who demonstrate leadership, innovation, craftsmanship, safety, workforce development, and community impact throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
The Historic Preservation & Renovation Award recognizes special projects that require exceptional skill in navigating the balance between historic renovation and preservation while integrating modern amenities and infrastructure.
APCO Electric is recognized for its work on the Historic 1898 Livestock Exchange Building, a landmark renovation that transformed the historic Denver structure into a vibrant, modern hub within the National Western Center while preserving its architectural integrity and historic character while enabling future-focused use.
The project stands out for its exceptional integration of state-of-the-art electrical and life-safety systems within a highly constrained historic structure, achieved through precision planning, innovative routing, and deep respect for original architectural elements. By seamlessly balancing preservation with performance, the team delivered a project that honors Denver’s agricultural heritage while positioning the building for long-term economic and community impact.
