Denver, CO — Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) proudly recognizes Hometown Electrical Services as the recipient of the 2026 Special Project Award for Historic Preservation & Modern Renovation during the 20th Annual Summit Awards held on April 16, 2026, at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.
The IECRM Special Project Award highlights exceptional work that requires skilled navigation between historic renovation and preservation while integrating modern building systems and amenities.
This year’s award recognizes outstanding achievement in the Ochiltree Block Redevelopment, a project that revitalized a cherished 1890s-era building in Denver’s Highlands. The work preserved the structure’s iconic brick façade and distinctive rounded corner while thoughtfully integrating a contemporary residential addition.
The project delivers 38 new housing units along with upgraded infrastructure, including EV-ready systems, all completed without compromising the building’s historic identity. Despite complex site constraints and structural challenges, the team demonstrated exceptional coordination, safety, and innovation in bringing new life to a historic landmark while honoring its legacy.
The project was recognized for its seamless blend of historic preservation and modern design, delivering both long-term functionality and architectural integrity.
