Powering Your Future

IEC Rocky Mountain Team

IECRM Members, Partners, and Community,

This month’s focus at IECRM is ensuring that you have the information you need to power your future, your business, and your industry forward. During Construction Safety Week 2022, many of you shared important data and reminders in your company and on social media about the importance of safety in the workplace and on the jobsite. A series of health and safety education sessions continue this month to bring about behavioral health awareness and how the construction industry is taking a lead to address opioid abuse, suicide prevention, and even stroke warning signs – can you be FAST!?!

The month of May also powers our association into event season! The 16th Annual Summit Awards Gala kicked off a summer of celebration with 225 members and guests recognizing the best in the industry with 40 awards presented at the elegant Cable Center. Next up is the Graduation Ceremony for our graduating 4th-year apprentices – a record-breaking 248 students! – followed by the popular Annual Sporting Clay Shoot, a series of happy hours and luncheons, capping off the summer with the networking extravaganza that is our Annual Golf Tournament. Schedule your calendars now, sign up to sponsor, and don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the summer season with IECRM.

Do you know someone graduating from high school? Have them visit MyElectricCareer.com to learn more about how to power their future in the electrical industry. They can even take a test drive by enrolling in the new Amplify Pre-Apprenticeship Program. When they are ready to take the plunge, we are standing by with IECRM Career Fairs and Apprenticeship Enrollment to kickstart their career.

Check out highlights of our powerful accomplishments in recent weeks that power us forward!

  • the successful completion of the Emerging Leaders 10.0 class which raised $10,000 in their community service project for Freedom Service Dogs in celebration of ten years of the program; and you can nominate your company’s next Emerging Leader
  • the opportunity to represent IECRM at SkillsUSA before more than 500 Colorado high school students and sponsor the electrical skills competition to attract future electrical apprentices to the industry;
  • the IECRM Wire-off which enabled 40 apprentices to highlight their skills and name the Apprentice of the Year: IECRM tutor Christian Veeder;
  • the voices of our members and partners working closely with the IECRM Government Relations Committee to make recommendations on HB 22-1346 (known as the ratio bill). All of the ratio change provisions were removed during the session. This is great news for IECRM and our members!

As you power through this month’s enews, be sure to scroll all the way through to the thought leadership and information shared by our industry partners.

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy

We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.

● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
