The Largest IEC Electrical Training Facility in the U.S. Announces Its 2022 Wire-Off Winners!

On Friday, April 29th, Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) held its Annual “Wire-Off” Competition in its state-of-the-art electrical lab where ten of the top students from each year of the Four-Year Electrical Apprenticeship Training Program put their skills and knowledge to the test in LIVE competitions throughout the day. The 4th-year apprentice that won 1st place in the competition is Christian Veeder of Custom Electrical Contractors Inc. Christian will go on to represent IECRM in the IEC National Competition this fall as he competes against the finalists of approximately 50 IEC Chapters from all around the country for the title of Apprentice of the Year (AOY).

This year, IECRM partnered with The City of Northglenn to showcase the City’s work through Xcel Partners in Energy towards preparing for an Electric Vehicle (EV) and Solar future. As the wiring competition was underway, homeowners and businesses, electrical contractors, and EV/Solar installers were invited to a special presentation and Q & A session from a panel of experts from Siemens, JuiceBar, and Xcel Energy. Topics included the newest technology, incentives, opportunities, rebates, and special programs available for electric vehicles and solar for homeowners, businesses, and contractors. Special guest Mayor Pro Tem Jennifer Willford announced the City’s goals in transitioning to clean energy and cleaner transit with a special presentation on the city’s plans and initiatives that are now in the final approval stages.

Congratulations to the 2022 IECRM Wire-Off Winners & Competitors! “We are so very proud of every student who competed. It’s a tough competition that puts our apprentices’ wiring skills to the test,” said Paul Lingo, IECRM Training Director. The IECRM Wire-Off winners for each apprenticeship year are listed below. The competitors in bold will be attending the IEC National Convention & Expo in Louisville, KY to cheer on Christian Veeder as he competes in the national competition.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy

We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.

● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
