Loenbro (Category C, representing companies with 100+ employees) earned recognition for transforming a legacy water treatment facility into a modern, high-capacity system designed for long-term community resilience.
The winning project, Pagosa Springs Water Treatment and Sanitation District – Snowball Water Treatment Plant Modernization, upgraded a decades-old facility with a 1,600-amp electrical service, more than 24 variable frequency drives, advanced SCADA integration, and a 600-kilowatt backup power system to ensure continuous operation.
Delivered in a remote mountain environment with a small, highly coordinated crew, the project demonstrated exceptional efficiency through innovative prefabrication, BIM-driven design, and proactive material planning to overcome logistical and scheduling challenges.
By integrating advanced treatment technologies like dissolved air flotation and expanding capacity to meet future demand, the project delivers reliable, resilient water infrastructure that will serve the Pagosa Springs community for generations.
