IECRM’s Sold-Out Golf Tournament Boosts Funding for the Electrical Association’s Advocacy Initiatives
Beautiful weather, a sold-out tournament, and long-time friendships reunited after months of virtual meetings and events — we could not have asked for more! It was a great tournament with colleagues and new friends. The annual event brings together the full spectrum of the electrical construction industry to network and enjoy the comradery of their peers and colleagues with a healthy dose of friendly competition. The tournament is the largest fundraising event of the year for the electrical skilled trade training facility and construction-focused trade association. The 27-hole course sold out with a total of 216 golfers in the line-up. There were two holes set up to support fundraising efforts. For $19.99 golfers had the opportunity to shoot their golf ball from an air pressured cannon instead of driving the ball. The cannon has been rumored to move the ball up to 390 yards in one instance! More than $2000 was raised to support the IECRM Political Action Committee (PAC) that monitors and actively participates in policies and issues that impact businesses and advocates for independent contractors. IECRM continues to monitor and take action on legislation that impacts workforce development, infrastructure and economic development, and labor and employment. IECRM is grateful for the support of ABB, Inc., which was once again our Golf Tournament Premier Sponsor. ABB is a global leader in the designing, manufacturing, and marketing of essential components used to manage the connection, distribution, transmission, and reliability of electrical power in utility, industrial, commercial, and residential applications.
