On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Marilyn Akers Stansbury led an IEC National webinar in recognition of Women’s History Month. Titled Driving Leadership into the Future, the session highlighted the contributions of women in policy and the electrical and energy sectors.
The webinar expanded on Marilyn’s seminar at IEC National SPARK in Phoenix, “Ladies – and Gentlemen – Start Your Engines: Driving Leadership into the Future!”, continuing the conversation around collaboration and leadership growth.

Using a racing analogy, Marilyn emphasized that strong leadership is about creating opportunities, supporting others, and building momentum together. The session explored key moments in the history of women in the electrical industry while reinforcing the importance of mentorship, teamwork, and inclusive leadership across the industry.
