COVID-19 Impact – Update March 17, 2020

Safety First!

The safety of our members and apprentices is, and always will be, our top priority. The dynamic nature of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak requires us to be nimble and flexible in how we respond, provide member services and apprenticeship training, as well as protect our members and your employees.

IECRM is continually monitoring this rapidly changing situation, continuing to remain vigilant, and following recommended precautionary measures, protocols and guidelines from various health organizations including the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local city and state authorities.

In order to provide you with the latest information about this crisis, we invite you to check our website for daily updates and to follow us on LinkedIn,  FacebookInstagram, and Twitter. You can rely on us to be responsible, reasonable, and responsive.

Community Care
Take everyday actions to protect yourself and those you love. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has recommendations and resources for you here. We echo their guidance, especially by actively encouraging all of our staff, members and apprentices to stay home when sick, and migrating classes and some events to online. We appreciate your partnership in carefully responding to matters of public health.

Changes to Apprenticeship Training Program
Starting the week of March 23rd, ALL apprenticeship classes will be held online. Our instructors have been trained to use the Classroom Management System (CMS) for online delivery and instruction; and students and their managers have received detailed information for accessing the online system.

Tutoring offered at the Northglenn Main Campus has been postponed until further notice. We will send out communication when we are able to offer it again.

Continuing Education Classes (CEUs)
IECRM will continue offering CEUs in order to meet State of Colorado license renewal requirements. CEUs will move to a live-online format via Zoom until further notice. If you have already registered for a CEU or professional development course, please watch your email for messages from [email protected] for updates on scheduling and movement of classes online. You may still register for CEUs at iecrm.org/ceus.

Meetings, Events, Activities
We have suspended face-to-face meetings except via virtual tools like Zoom. As such, we also are postponing the Summit Awards Banquet.  This also includes deadlines for project and individual nominations for Summit Awards. A new date has yet to be determined. If you have already submitted a nomination, thank you! It will be safely held and judged along with all entries when a new deadline for submission is set. Additionally the Safety Awards application and judging are postponed with new dates to be decided.

The March 25 IECRM Safety Forum will focus on Emergency Preparedness: Lessons Learned, How are We Really with COVID-19? and will be held via Zoom.

The April and May IECRM Career Fairs are cancelled.  Finally our team is discussing the Wire-Off/Energy Expo as the current date is on the cusp of State-mandated restrictions.

As you know, we view each and every one of you as an extension of our family and we care deeply about each of you and our community as a whole. You may contact the IECRM office by phone at 303.853.4886 or email [email protected] with any questions, concerns or needs we can support; and so we can provide additional information and/or respond appropriately as we continue to serve you.

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy

We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.

● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
