CEO Letter

As we spring ahead, though we lost an hour of precious sleep, spring does seem to be in the air! It’s also the time of IECRM’s year when Summit Award nominations have been submitted, nominees are judged by industry peers, and preparations are underway for the award ceremony and banquet on Thursday, April 11. On a national level, the IEC National Spark Awards and call for nominations opens April 1.

The big news this month is about CEUs! With all electrician licenses expiring in September 2020, it’s time to think about preparing for renewals and planning to ensure that your workforce is scheduled to earn the requisite number of continuing education hours for Colorado as well as other states in which you operate. Not only does IECRM provide ALL of the required 24 CEU hours that you will need, but we now offer Group CEUs to get your entire team’s educational needs met at once. We’ll even come to your site!

Also as part of this e-news, we’re amplifying another member benefit: the IEC National Forum Groups. Several IECRM members already participate and we hope you will consider how these groups might help you and your business. Other ways to take advantage of your national benefits is to attend IEC National events in May and October.

To better serve our members and students, IECRM staff are diligently working on a new database and content management system. See the article in this issue for more details.

On the marketing front, we’ve received some terrific publicity – from Colorado Construction & Design and via an interview/podcast hosted by the Colorado Business Roundtable and Colorado Workforce Council Radio.

Despite the “bomb cyclone” storm that brought hurricane-force winds and snow to the Front Range, candidates were hired at the IECRM Career Fair in Fort Collins. It’s time to sign up for the April and May Career Fairs at the Northglenn campus. These fairs continue to provide a terrific way to meet prospective workforce candidates.

It’s a busy time and I, for one, am energized even more than usual by the great work all of us do together and saying farewell to winter.

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy

We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.

● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
