A Letter from our CEO

As electricians, you radiate light and the electricity that makes it shine! This Be the Light issue was written in the spirit of the season to share how IECRM has been a guiding light for the industry and your businesses in 2020. I’m proud of how we have worked together to navigate this unprecedented pandemic and the impacts it has had on each of us: business and personal.

2020 has been a most unusual year for IECRM and each of you as well. As we’ve responded with the evolution of the COVID pandemic, I am always inspired by our dedicated members, engaged partners, wonderful staff and instructors, and passionate apprentices as I learn about your companies, your lives, and the ways you each contribute to the community and the industry we represent.

December brings the spirit of giving season. Celebrating Colorado Gives Day #COGivesDay on Tuesday, December 8th is designed to promote the importance of donating time, resources, or talents to impact local challenges. Please see the articles Enterprise Zones, PAC, Giving Back in this issue on economic empowerment Enterprise Zones, supporting the IECRM PAC, and how to “give-back” during the holiday season, especially this year.

We have so much to be thankful for despite the challenges of 2020. You — our members, partners and apprentices — have been with us throughout the year as we shifted, pivoted, and evolved to offer quality apprenticeship training online for all students, provide CEU courses to all Colorado electricians in a license renewal year, kept pace with events and programs to network, advocate, celebrate, and educate during the impacts of COVID-19.

IECRM is grateful for your understanding and adapting to these changes. Above all, we are grateful for the health and safety of our member community, your families, and partner supporters. Your commitment to IECRM continues to drive us year after year. You have shown up in ways we could have never imagined. So, as we enter the holiday season, we want to extend our sincerest gratitude to you and your employees and families. Your support allows us to continue serving you in ways that helps your businesses to thrive.

In this Issue…

Don’t miss the recaps of our November 18th Member Forum in three parts: COVID, Legislative IECRM, and Legislative IEC National. We’ve also provided you with a current listing of members of the Colorado House and Senate. Also included are recaps of our State of the Industry virtual event, National Apprenticeship Week, the IEC National Emerging Leaders program now accepting nominations, and our IEC National award-winning members, staff and chapter.

Be sure you RSVP for the IECRM Virtual Member Holiday Party for our members, students, and their families. You don’t want to miss the fun and opportunity to Zoom with Santa! RSVP NOW!

Give a Gift to IECRM this Season by Sharing a Google Review

December is IECRM Social Media month and on our list for Santa are year-end Google reviews, and more “likes” and “followers” on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and Instagram. We also want to be able to see and share all the holiday fun you are having through photos and images from virtual IECRM events and company celebrations you are holding this year. Share and tag them with #IECRM.

In 2021, we will build on our success and strive to make our initiatives and programs even more inspiring and impactful. Wishing you happiness and the joy of family and friendship in the wonder of this holiday season!

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy

We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.

● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
