As the industry moves into a busy season, many electrical contractors are preparing for new projects and ramping up hiring again after a pause during the past year’s economic slowdown. The good news: Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) has hundreds of candidates ready to start their electrical careers!

Career Fairs: Meet Candidates Face-to-Face

IECRM Career Fairs give contractor members the opportunity to connect with multiple motivated candidates in just a few hours, creating a fast and effective way to meet future apprentices and strengthen hiring pipelines. Manufacturer and distributor partner members are also invited to reserve free booths, helping candidates explore industry pathways and gain valuable exposure to the electrical trade.

As part of IECRM membership benefits, members are encouraged to participate and host a booth at no additional cost, making it easy to engage directly with the next generation of skilled electricians.

Upcoming 2026 IECRM Career Fairs

  • June 18 | 4–6 PM – IECRM, Northglenn
  • July 23 | 4–6 PM – IECRM, Fort Collins

Hire List: Talent Ready to Work

Through IECRM’s Hire List, contractor members have access to motivated individuals eager to begin electrical apprenticeships, along with experienced electricians who are currently available and looking for their next opportunity. For contractors looking to staff up quickly, this ready-to-work talent pool provides an immediate advantage.

Accessible through the Flashpoint portal, IECRM’s Hire List features pre-qualified candidates ranging from entry-level to experienced journeyworkers. It also includes graduates of the AMPLIFY program, who are OSHA-10 and CPR certified and ready to begin apprenticeships immediately.

IECRM Online Job Board: Get Your Openings Seen

IECRM members can also promote open positions through the IECRM Online Job Board, a members-only benefit designed to put job opportunities directly in front of motivated job seekers.

With more than 3,000 website visits each month, posting your open positions on the IECRM website is a simple and effective way to increase visibility and attract qualified candidates from across the electrical industry.

Borrowed Worker Program: A Flexible Workforce Solution

Another valuable—and often overlooked—member resource is IECRM’s Borrowed Worker Program.

When a contractor has skilled workers available during a slow period, they can temporarily “loan” them to another contractor who needs additional manpower. IECRM maintains a list of available workers and contractor needs for up to 30 days, allowing members to quickly connect.

“The list is available to any contractor member upon request and the arrangements are made directly between contractors,” explains Brenda Magee of Magee Electric, who discovered the program after joining IECRM.

Your Hiring Advantage

By leveraging the Hire List, Online Job Board, Borrowed Worker Program, and Career Fairs, members of Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain gain powerful tools to find, retain, and manage skilled electrical professionals in today’s competitive market.
