Spring Hiring & Workforce Outreach – What to Expect

A critical factor to business success is the ability to recruit, train, and retain a qualified workforce. IECRM is committed to providing our members with outreach and recruitment support.

Coming this Spring:

AMPLIFY – Amplify is a 4-week pre-apprenticeship electrical training program based on the New Worker Program developed by IEC National. The program provides onboarding training for candidates interested in the electrical industry. The training includes familiarization with the different types of electrical work (residential, commercial, and industrial), tools and lingo used in the industry, Electrical 101, and the many career paths available in the industry. Amplify participants also receive OSHA-10 and CPR, AED, and First-Aid training and certification to ready them for the next steps in becoming electrical apprentices. The program concludes with an exclusive Career Fair to get them into the field directly upon completion. Career Fair booths are only available to IECRM member contractors.

IECRM invites its member contractors to sign up new hires for AMPLIFY as part of their onboarding process. IECRM promotes its pre-apprenticeship program at several outreach events throughout the year, bringing in many interested candidates eager to begin their journey in the electrical industry. Participants already employed with a member contractor will not attend the career fair and will be released after they receive the certificate of completion.

Amplify participants are fully funded through scholarships provided by Adams County Workforce Center and may qualify for additional funding should they continue to pursue an apprenticeship. Participants that do not complete the scholarship process by the posted deadline may attend at the cost of $400.

CAREER FAIRS – IECRM will host multiple Career Fairs beginning this spring and through the end of the summer to assist its members with their recruitment initiatives. Members of IECRM receive a free booth at every hiring event that IECRM hosts. Make sure to sign up for your booth early to get your company name in front of candidates before the event.

To promote our hiring events, IECRM advertises on local radio, billboards, social media, and digital platforms. Like us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, visit our website at iecrm.org, and sign up for our email list, for more information on upcoming IECRM Career Fairs and other events.

In addition to IECRM-hosted recruitment events, IECRM reaches out to the community to spread the word and inspire the next generation of electricians. IECRM  regularly teaches an electrical course for pre-apprenticeship programs for the Colorado Construction Careers Now program and The Master’s Apprentice to recruit new candidates.

IECRM also participates in third-party regional hiring events to further reach and connect prospective electricians to our contractor members by inviting interested candidates for an interview to be added to the hire list and inviting them to our upcoming Career Fairs.

ADDITIONAL RECRUITMENT SUPPORT – Take advantage of these additional member benefits to get your company in front of qualified job candidates – Post your job openings on IECRM’s  Online Job Board and access the IECRM Hire List.

Be proactive in growing your workforce by joining IECRM at these third-party hiring events. To receive updates and a calendar of workforce outreach events, contact Jordan Renken, IECRM Workforce Development Coordinator, at [email protected].

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy

We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.

● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
