Member Benefit: Workforce Development — Crucial to Your Business
Workforce Development is one of the most important economic issues facing Colorado, and the nation. The critical labor shortage of skilled workers is impacting the electrical contracting industry and its future growth.
A solid workforce is crucial to your business and IECRM works behind-the-scenes in partnership with state and county workforce development operations to create and ensure a skilled workforce pipeline for IECRM members. Elevating the quality of the workforce for members is also conducted at multiple levels through a variety of programs and committees, including:
- Career Fairs (contractor members receive a free booth)
- Legislative policy and advocacy for the industry
- Administration of the Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage/Office of Apprenticeship Program
- Online Job Board
- Outreach to schools and communities
- Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
- National Apprenticeship Week Initiatives
IECRM also reaches out in the community to spread the word and share our passion to inspire the next generation of electricians, and regularly teaches an electrical course for pre-apprenticeship programs for CCN (Constructions Careers Now) and The Master’s Apprentice. Our training team also regularly attends high school job fairs to promote a career in the electrical field. In addition to attending and representing IECRM members at CCN career fairs throughout the year to promote immediate jobs with a great future, we host our own Career Fairs.
IECRM is committed to continuing to take proactive steps to address the skills shortage by providing our members with outreach and recruitment support. Take advantage of our candidate-facing benefits – free Career Fair booths, the IECRM Job Board, our Hire List, and the networking and engagement of our senior staff with influencers, government, educators and human resource decision-makers.
