Today, May 11th marks the 120th day of the Legislative Session, the last day of the session, also known as Sine Die! Please refer to the bill tracker for the latest information on the legislation IECRM has been following closely throughout the January – May 2022 session. All of the ratio change provisions in HB 22-1346 were removed during the session; the remaining sections of the bill included state and local government requirements for ratio enforcement based on existing law and modifications to requirements for pulling permits as a licensed plumber or electrician. The bill passed the House and Senate and will go to the Governor for signature. This is a success for IECRM and our members.
Each session is unique, but this year wasn’t like any other on multiple fronts but especially with how many bills were still going through the process in the final week. There were 657 bills introduced this year, 418 out of the House and 239 out of the Senate. There were 116 bills postponed indefinitely not including ones that died on the calendar with the adjournment. So far, the Governor has signed 130 bills into law.
Please join us on Wednesday, June 1 at 7:30 a.m. via zoom for the Government Relations Committee End of Session Report to assess the session impact and prepare for candidate interviews for the fall election cycle.
