Mandatory Annual OA Contractor Meeting

Attendance is required for Contractors that are part of the OA Program.

IECRM is an Office of Apprenticeship (OA) certified training provider by the U.S. Department of Labor. This OA designation (formerly called BAT) allows our member companies with employees in our IECRM Apprenticeship School to bid on government projects with Davis-Bacon wage requirements on a tiered scale. This tiered scale enables your company to provide more competitive bids.

The Annual OA Contractor meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Main IECRM Campus in Northglenn – Lunch will be provided. The meeting will begin promptly at 11:00 AM and end at 2:00 PM.

If you are already registered with IECRM as an OA Contractor, please RSVP for the Annual OA Meeting. This meeting is required for OA contractors and will cover important rules, regulations, updates, and the rights and responsibilities of OA-registered employers and apprentices for 2023.

To be registered with the OA Program, the contractor’s membership must be in good standing at IECRM. Apprentices must be registered in the OA Program and enrolled in classes or signed up for the next enrollment period at IECRM. Finally, apprentices must complete on-the-job training (OJT) forms monthly and turn them in to IECRM or the employer. Forms can be sent to [email protected]

The OA Program registration ties directly to the requirements to sit for a Journeyman’s license. To take the Journeyman exam, apprentices must have a combination of four years “on the job” training experience and 8,000 OJT hours. Licensure as a Journeyman requires only 288 hours of classroom training. However, apprentices must have 576 hours of classroom training to earn the OA Program Certificate from the U.S. Department of Labor which verifies documented hours of electrical training through a nationally recognized program.

If you are not registered with us as an OA Contractor or have questions about registering, please email Terri Reynolds, IECRM Compliance Manager, at terri@iecrm.
