It’s time to think about safety… and being recognized for your excellence in safety

Workplace safety is one of IEC’S core values and members are encouraged to have the safest work environment possible. Each year, the association recognizes those members who have exemplary safety programs and records with the IEC-CNA Safety Award and the Safety Program Awareness & Retention Kit (SPARK).

These awards are presented as a premier industry acknowledgement and represent an unparalleled opportunity to celebrate the work of all members. IEC and CNA formally recognize electrical and systems contractors who place safety as a high priority in their organization and have the results to prove it. The IEC-CNA Safety Award is viewed as the elite safety award for the industry, recognizing those companies that excel in multiple areas of their safety program. The award was first presented in September 2006.

“Completing the Spark Safety Assessment each year has become a valuable tool for Integrity Electrical Solutions,” says Rick Mulnix, Integrity’s Safety/Risk Manager. “We use it to gauge where your company is at regarding safety. The most important part is to be honest and truthful in your evaluation of your program. Careful evaluation of information that is portrayed as fact is critical. If you are not honest and truthful you will not be able to see where you can make improvements.”

Receiving an IEC SPARK Award is a tremendous achievement, and we urge members and chapters to take advantage of this significant opportunity for visible and tangible recognition.

“For the past 2 years we have achieved the level of Grand Achievement in the Spark Safety Assessment,” says Rick. “Even though we attained this level, we feel it is important to evaluate our program annually because the Spark Safety Assessment allows a company to continually evaluate their safety program.

Don’t let this opportunity pass you by!
