This year’s event will showcase the top 40 apprentices competing live for a chance to represent IECRM at the IEC SPARK Convention in Phoenix, AZ, September 26-28, 2025.
A New Era for the Wire-Off Competition
This year, IECRM has opened the competition to all current apprentices! Previously, only the top ten students with the highest GPAs were eligible to compete. Now, any apprentice can sign up, and the top ten GPA holders from those who register in each year of the program will secure a spot in the competition.
Competitors will showcase their technical skills in a timed hands-on challenge, demonstrating precision, speed, and expertise in electrical installations. The first-place winner from the 4th-year competition will earn a trip to the IEC SPARK Convention in Phoenix, AZ, from September 26–28, 2025, to compete on a national stage against the best apprentices from IEC chapters across the country for the coveted title of Apprentice of the Year (AOY)!
These skilled apprentices will demonstrate their abilities in hands-on challenges that test their technical expertise and speed in electrical installations. The winner of the 4th-year competition will earn a trip to the IEC SPARK Convention in Phoenix, where they’ll compete on the national stage with apprentices from across the country!
