The Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain Hosts Inaugural Open House
DENVER, Colorado — December 4, 2012 — The Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) (www.iecrm.org), the premier trade association and educational institution of the Rocky Mountain region, recently hosted an inaugural Open House for prospective students and prospective trade association members. The event was held on November 27th at the IECRM campus and trade association headquarters, in Denver.
Many promising new apprentices and independent electrical contractors attended the event. Visitors were given tours of the classrooms and meeting spaces, met instructors and staff, learned about educational programs and financial assistance opportunities, and learned about the benefits of becoming a member, partner, or affiliate of the trade association. Several current IECRM students and trade association members also attended the event, and assisted visitors in getting acquainted with IECRM’s mission and values in the electrical and energy industries. Prospective instructors (licensed independent electricians and educational professionals) were also invited to the event. IECRM has several employment opportunities still open for 2013, and all interested and eligible individuals are encouraged to apply.
The special guest of the Open House was Thomas & Betts (www.tnb.com), a global leader in electrical components that manages the connection, distribution, transmission, and reliability of electrical power. At the event, Thomas & Betts presented its generous donation of an electrical product display board, to be used as a teaching tool by IECRM’s electrical apprenticeship program instructors. Following the presentation, IECRM announced Thomas & Betts’ advancement from a Gold Partner to a Platinum Level Industry Partner within the trade association. Platinum Level is currently the highest level of partnership within IECRM.
