The winning project, Spinney Mountain, implemented an innovative, fully integrated electrical and heating system designed to eliminate persistent ice buildup and safeguarded critical water infrastructure in a remote, high-elevation environment. Through a phased approach, the team engineered a custom system combining heat trace, infrared heaters, automated controls, and specialized power blankets—adapting in real time when initial solutions proved insufficient under extreme winter conditions. This project exemplifies exceptional problem-solving, resilience, and technical execution—ensuring reliable operation of a vital municipal water supply system.
