The EV training program aims to empower individuals with the expertise needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle industry.

The IECRM Electric Vehicle Charging Station Training Program (EVCSTP) is a training and certification program designed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge on the installation of electric vehicle charging stations. The program covers a wide range of topics, including the fundamentals of electric vehicle technology, battery management systems, charging infrastructure, electric motor systems, and information on applicable NEC codes. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of EV principles, explore the latest advancements in battery technology and energy storage. The training program also delves into the design and functionality of electric motors used in vehicles, in addition to troubleshooting and maintenance skills.

The IEC Electric Vehicle Charging Station Training Program (EVCSTP) follows the approved national guideline standard recognized by the United States Department of Labor. It meets the requirements for training and certification in the installation of electric vehicle charging stations and is considered equivalent to other approved programs. The (EVCSTP) Certificate is good for 20 continuing education hours toward DORA electrical license renewal.

20-Hour CEU Breakdown:

  • 11 hours – Wiring Methods
  • 1 hour – Grounding and Bonding
  • 4 hours – Theory and Calculation
  • 4 hours – Safety

The curriculum provides a robust platform for learning to successfully install EV chargers. The course consists of six modules and includes a 100-question proficiency exam for certification. The total length of the program is 24 hours and has been updated to include the current NEC code. This class is instructor-led by a licensed JW/ME in the state of Colorado.
