Weifield Group Electrical Contracting for Denver International Airport Southwest Hangar Project
During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Weifield and its GC/trade partners constructed a new 128,000 sq. ft. steel maintenance hangar, bays, and outbuildings for Southwest Airlines on a 26-acre site at Denver International Airport (DEN). This was one of the first building projects at DEN in the last 25 years that wasn’t owned by the airport.
Numerous challenges presented themselves throughout the course of this project — including the Covid-19 pandemic, a slowed-down schedule/budget, complexities with safety protocols on-site; and governmental and regulatory scrutiny.
