Energy Industry Job Fair in Denver Aims to Attract New Talent to the Trades
DENVER, Colorado — June 5, 2013 — On Tuesday, June 25th, from 4-6pm, IECRM will host its first-ever Energy Industry Job Fair in Denver, Colorado, open to all those who are looking for entry-level and experienced careers in Colorado’s electrical and energy industries. The job fair is a coordinated effort to help electrical and energy companies fill open positions for skilled workers, such as electricians and apprentices.
Though the unemployment rate in Colorado is at its lowest since January 2009 (6.9% as of April 2013), Colorado energy and electrical companies are struggling to find, and hire, skilled workers.
This Energy Industry Job Fair is IECRM’s short-term solution to solve this skilled labor shortage. IECRM already pursues a long-term strategy, in that it currently educates nearly 600 apprentices annually, preparing the next generations of electricians to become leaders in their professions.
Companies hiring at the Energy Industry Job Fair include several energy and construction contractors, construction suppliers and manufacturers, RTD’s Workforce Initiative Now (offering careers in the transportation and construction industries), Veterans Green Jobs (offering green sector employment opportunities for veterans), and many other local companies.
Companies will be hiring for electrical apprentices with little or some field experience, licensed Journeymen electricians, sales staff, office support, and many other positions.
Sign up to attend the Energy Industry Job Fair on Tuesday, June 25th, in Denver, from 4-6pm, at: https://iecrm.org/events/2013-open-house-and-energy-job-fair/.
