A Letter from the CEO

Dear IECRM

This issue is FUTURE focused! IECRM continually strives to advance today’s electrical contractor by educating, advocating, and promoting the industry, developing the workforce, and creating opportunities. We achieve this because there is strength in numbers. Our members and partners are what makes IECRM, the volunteers that serve on our Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, and on various committees and task forces contributing their industry experience, knowledge, and skills. We are grateful to have such a great network of resources to drive electrical careers into the future!

This year we have enrolled more than 2,000 students, our largest ever! We are gearing up for new student orientation next week and the beginning of the school year the following week. Click here to see important dates for 2019-2020 students.

Join us to celebrate and welcome students to school at our annual Back to School Open House event on Friday, August 16 from 3 to 6pm. This year we are playing off the theme of Back to the Future and inviting IEC alumni for a homecoming to tour the school and learn about a new benefit for their futures. All IECRM members and colleagues are invited to bring their families and friends to enjoy food, drinks, ice cream, fun activities, and great prizes! Tour the campus and labs, meet IECRM instructors, staff, students, and travel back in time with IECRM alumni to learn about their career journey and their secrets for success. Click here for more details and to RSVP to this FREE event.

IECRM is excited to announce a new benefit for students and alumni! Recently, IECRM & Emily Griffith Technical College partnered with CSU Global to offer IECRM graduates (2009-2019) up to 53 college credits toward a bachelor degree from CSU Global, plus a 10% discount on tuition. A career as an electrician is a viable and sustainable career on it’s own and now our students and alumni can utilize credits earned for their hard work and dedication to further their education.

Also in this issue, read about The Evolution of Apprenticeship from IEC National ‘s Insights Magazine. Note the fast-approaching deadlines for Emerging Leader nominations, early bird cut-off for the annual golf tournament, as well as IEC’s Convention and Expo, getting your group CEU discounts, and a call for volunteers to help with Orientation and book distribution for the new school year.

You’ve chosen to make electrical contracting and IECRM your career choice and future. When I think about that I realize what a significant move that is and how much IECRM is a part of that.  The summer continues to fly by at 1.21 gigawatts, and it will be autumn before we know it. Please join us in welcoming our students and alumni Back to School on Friday, August 16th. I hope to see you there!

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy

We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.

● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
