iecrm

The IECRM Golf Tournament, held on August 31, 2023, at Fox Hollow Golf Course, was a resounding success with a sold-out roster of 216 golfers. This eagerly anticipated event was brimming with camaraderie, competition, and support for the Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM). Golfers started the day with breakfast, a warm-up on the driving range, and a chance to network amid the 54-cart lineup. The tournament followed a scramble-style format, commencing with a shotgun start. Several contest holes added excitement, offering valuable prizes, including two opportunities to win $5,000 through hole-in-one shots. IECRM Industry Partners that purchased a tent on the course met the golfers, showcased their products and service offerings, and provided fun giveaways.

This year, a unique addition was made to the tournament by inviting three LPGA BackSwing Pro Golfers to challenge participants and raise funds for IECRM’s workforce development initiatives. Tori Peers, Kristen Schelling, and Kaira Martin were positioned on Par three holes. This addition raised nearly $8,000 through the “Beat the Pro” fundraising game, marking a historic achievement for the IECRM Golf Tournament.

The tournament also significantly impacted the IECRM’s Political Action Committee (PAC), raising over $600 to advocate for policies benefiting the electrical and renewable energy industry. Watch for announcements about legislative issues coming up that IECRM will be tracking.

Once golfers completed their 18 holes, guests gathered at the large lunch pavilion for cold drinks and a delicious taco bar. As guests mingled over lunch, team scores were tallied, and the event wrapped up with the announcement of door prize giveaways, contest winners, and, most notably the tournament placement winners were revealed and honored with commemorative trophies.
