Platinum Partner Spotlight – QED

As IECRM’s 2024 Platinum Premier Partner, QED continues to provide valuable products and  resources to the electrical contracting industry.  Founded in Denver in 1987, QED aims to provide high-quality electrical products and services to the industry. They employ over 500 associates and serve residential and commercial contractors, industrial facilities, and OEM businesses, with 18 branches across Arizona and Colorado.  QED is part of the Sonepar Group, an independent family-owned company with global market leadership in B-to-B distribution of electrical products, solutions and related services. With a vast network of 80 brands spanning 40 countries, the group has an ambitious transformation agenda to become the first global B-to-B electrical distributor to offer a fully digitalized and synchronized omnichannel experience to all customers.

In an effort to familiarize our members with QED, we asked Scott Purcell, Regional VP of Sales, to share insights on what makes them a great partner.

What is your Company’s WHY?

What is it you believe in? 

QED is a company that takes a long-term view of things.  We believe that progress moves the world forward and makes lives better.  Every day, through our business, lived values, and links we create, we are committed to serving future generations and energized to help power that progress.

What is your most strategic service to electrical contractors and the renewable energy industry?  

QED has a number of value-added services aimed at reducing non-electrical labor hours in an effort to increase our customers’ bottom lines.  Whether our customers are setting light poles, pulling wire, or managing material on a job site, QED has a service that will make our customers more efficient and profitable.  QED is a major stocking distributor to support our customers in the renewables industry.  We have partnered with three major EV charger manufacturers in order to support our customers focusing on the renewables market.  In addition, we are selling strategically into the solar market.  We have a full line of solar panels, inverters, racking, and material to complete the balance of systems. 

Tell us about your partnership and engagement with IECRM.  

QED has been involved with IECRM since the late 1990’s. It started because QED cares about the industry and, more importantly, the people associated with it. The partnerships and the relationships have helped promote and advance our industry.

QED continues today with the same sense of pride of establishing a better career path for thousands of young people seeking to find a to great way of life.

QED has also been represented on the Board of Directors for 10 years ! And we look forward to continuing to help grow the industry for years to come.

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

 

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.


Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.


Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.


To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.


We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy


We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.


● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

 

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
