Over 200 Students Attended the 5th Annual Apprentice Holiday Party

DENVER, Colorado – December 23, 2015 – On Friday, December 11th, Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) hosted its 5th Annual IECRM Student Holiday Party. Over 200 electrical apprentices gathered at the Denver campus to celebrate the holiday season, network with peers, make-up missed classes, play tournament-style poker, and receive gifts from the IECRM electrical training school and its partner sponsors.

Students were provided with dinner from Chipotle while make-up classes were held. IECRM instructors attended and assisted with the event. Several raffles were held during the evening for valuable tools and tool kits, a generous gift card from Boot Barn in Longmont, a gift basket provided by Sprint, and many more useful items suited for an aspiring electrical professional. Several gift cards were also passed out for Starbucks, AMC Theaters, and Chipotle courtesy of IECRM, to those that answered holiday trivia questions correctly.

IECRM Apprentice David Decker took home a Complete IDEAL Tool Bag, Southwire Pulling Lanyard, Greenlee Sawzall Blades, Greenlee Gloves, Milwaukee Tape Measure, Milwaukee Razor Knife, and a Milwaukee T-Shirt.

“The Student Holiday Party has grown in popularity each year. IECRM apprentices and instructors had the chance to interact outside of the classroom environment and have a good time for the Holidays. This event also provides a great opportunity to showcase some of the tools used in the electrical industry and to build relationships between the next generation electrician and those tool manufacturers. Not one apprentice walked away empty handed,” stated Paul Lingo, IECRM Training Director.

A special thanks goes out to the IECRM partners that made this event possible, Easter-Owens, the premier sponsor who catered the food for the evening, and the generous prize sponsors, AIS, Boot Barn, Federated Insurance, Greenlee, Ideal Industries, Milwaukee Tools, Southwire and SPRINT for donating gifts to the IECRM apprentices. “None of this would be possible without them and we look forward to doing it again next year!”

IECRM holds a US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots drive each holiday season and collects donations at its Denver loctaion and at events.  Toys for Tots is a charitable program that delivers gifts to economically disadvantaged children in the Denver area throughout the holiday season. IECRM extends a warm thank you to the individuals that donated toys at the Student Holiday Party!

The Annual Apprentice Holiday Party is one event that allows IECRM the opportunity to give back to both its students and the community throughout the year.
