NEW Opportunities for Grant Funding for IECRM Contractors

Join us live online via ZOOM on IECRMs next Monthly Member Forum when the Office of the Future of Work presents Apprenticeship Expansion in Colorado on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM, REGISTER NOW!

IECRM electrical contractors can benefit from the State’s Apprenticeship Expansion program by applying for newly allocated grant funding to help support the cost of establishing and maintaining apprenticeship programs available through the Office of the Future of Work (OFOW). Funding can help offset the costs of wages, materials, and other expenses associated with providing on-the-job training to apprentices. The program’s primary goal is to increase the number and quality of apprenticeships available in high-demand fields and skilled trades such as electrical contracting.

IMPORTANT: IECRM contractors NOT currently registered with the US Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship (OA) may apply for the Accelerate Apprenticeship Grant through the Office of the Future of WorkCompanies may receive $5,000 once they join an existing apprenticeship program or register their own and then hire a new apprentice.  After retaining the hired apprentice for six months, they may receive an additional $2,500. Contact the Office of the Future of Work to register your program or join an existing apprenticeship program like IECRM’s.

  1. Review the Opportunity Overview.
  2. Complete the Pre-application Checklist.
  3. Apply for funding through the Office of the Future of Work.
  4. After your grant is approved, email Terri Reynolds, IECRM Compliance Manager ([email protected]), to get your company and apprentices registered through IECRM with the US DOL Office of Apprenticeship (OA).

IMPORTANT: For contractors that ARE already registered with the US DOL Office of Apprenticeship (OA) through IECRM and have their own apprenticeship program. The Office of the Future of Work anticipates launching the application for the second cycle of Scale-Up Grants on April 7, 2023. Scale-Up Grants are competitive awards of up to $50,000 that support organizations to develop or expand a Registered Apprenticeship Program. The opportunity funds capacity-building projects for current and future Registered Apprenticeship Program employers and sponsors.

A single entity cannot receive both the Scale-Up Grant and the Accelerate Apprenticeship Grant as both grant opportunities are currently funded by the IDEA Grant. Please see this document for a comparison of the two grant opportunities.

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy

We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.

● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
