AHJ: Field problems

Question: How are jurisdictions handling issuing certificates of occupancies where

projects are waiting for equipment and materials.

Answer: After speaking with several different jurisdictions the majority consensus is issuing a temporary certificate of occupancy until the project can be completed per approved plans. This may vary where the material and equipment back ordered may be viewed as detrimental to life safety. In summary, every AHJ I have spoken to is understanding of material and equipment shortages and will accommodate the best they can and ask the contractor to please advise them of any such issues as soon as possible.
