IECRM was a proud host of the 2021 National IEC Convention, Expo & Awards Gala held in Denver, for the first time in over 15 years, at the Colorado Convention Center. Electrical industry professionals from all over the country traveled to attend the 4-day convention that offered a wide range of specialized educational sessions, networking and social events, a golf tournament and a luncheon to benefit future electricians, the vast Expo Hall where 70 exhibitors displayed innovative products and services, the live National Apprentice of the Year competition that included 25 electrical apprentices from different IEC chapters across the country, a showcase for high school students interested in an electrical career, and a special presentation on leadership from the Keynote Speaker Terrell Davis, former Denver Bronco, Super Bowl MVP, and successful businessman. This year’s convention in Denver shone brightly with IECRM’s own member Janet Martin (vice president and owner of Bret’s Electric, Inc.) serving as the President of the IEC National Board of Directors.

“IEC Rocky Mountain was honored to be among the hosts of this year’s convention as it allowed for more of our electrical contractor members throughout Colorado to get to experience this incredible annual event,” said Marilyn Akers Stansbury, IECRM CEO.

IECRM and its members were recognized nationally with a total of 17 awards and honors at the 2021 National Awards Gala. The emcee for the evening was IEC National Industry Partner and IECRM member, Bryan Beckett, owner of Office Sensei and the IEC Pride Store. This prestigious annual event for the industry was held Saturday evening, October 9, to recognize individuals and projects that demonstrate excellence in the electrical and systems contracting industry. IECRM received 3 of the 5 chapter awards and our electrical contractor members took home a combined total of 14 national awards and honors.

“Receiving an award from IEC National is a monumental accomplishment that allows a company to recognize its employees and showcase to its customers and community the outstanding contributions and projects that come from being the ‘best of the best’ in your profession and craft. We are immensely proud of our members, partners, apprentices, and staff who worked hard to capture national award recognition,” said Marilyn Akers Stansbury, IECRM CEO.
