Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) members successfully mobilized the 50th Annual 9NEWS Parade of Lights in Downtown Denver on December 7th. Fourteen IECRM electrical contracting companies provided trucks and volunteers to pull the floats, showcasing the strength and unity of the electrical trade and their dedication to this cherished holiday tradition that brings hundreds of thousands of spectators to line the streets of Denver and thousands more that tune in live and throughout the month of December. We also ran a special commercial during the air times of the 9NEWS Parade of Lights to promote careers in the electrical industry to boost the interest of the next generation of electricians. IECRM’s involvement in the parade began seven years ago when the organization partnered with the Downtown Denver Partnership to introduce a new permanent float—the Sparkling Ice Castle. This dazzling float highlights the skills of electrical apprentices and promotes the trade as a sustainable and rewarding career path. Each year, the float features an “Apprince” and “Apprincess”—current IECRM apprentices. This year, Jordan DeNileon of Wayne’s Electric and Jolynn Jackson of Juniper Mountain Electric represented the industry, demonstrating its accessibility and appeal to all.
To mark the occasion, over 200 IECRM members, students, and families gathered for a festive Holiday Party at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Guests enjoyed gourmet appetizers, dinner, music, holiday kids’ activities, visits and photos with Santa, the “Apprince” and “Apprincess” and “Buddy” the elf, fresh-baked cookies and hot cocoa, and prime parade viewing. The event celebrated the accomplishments of IECRM and the vital contributions of the electrical industry while fostering connections among members.

IECRM continues to champion the electrical trade through its earn-while-you-learn electrical apprenticeship training program, allowing students to gain hands-on experience while earning wages and working toward a fulfilling career.
