How to Enter the IEC Apprentice Short Story Contest

1. Type a 500 word short story (see “Short Story Topics” below)
2. Follow these contest submission instructions
3. Submit your entry by March 1, 2013.

• Grand Prize: (1) $250 Visa gift card
• Runner-Up Prizes: (4) $100 Visa gift cards

Rules & Eligibility

• Entrants MUST be in their fourth year of apprentice training in an IEC training program.
• Submissions should be typed and should not exceed 500 words.
• Submissions Due: March 1, 2013.

Short Story Topics

Write about one or more of the following topics:

• How I first found out about the IEC Apprentice Training Program
• Why I decided to enroll in the IEC Apprentice Training Program
• Why I chose to become an electrician
• Who or what influenced my decision to become an electrician
