How IECRM Celebrated National Apprenticeship Week in 2022

IECRM celebrates our apprentices yearly during National Apprenticeship Week with a week-long apprentice appreciation celebration that includes food and beverages for all our in-person students and a mini Expo each night at the main IECRM campus in Northglenn. IECRM appreciates our apprentices’ hard work and dedication because they are the industry’s future leaders.

National Apprenticeship week is also an excellent opportunity for IECRM to highlight its 4-Year Electrical Apprenticeship Training Program to prospective students and members! Each year, IECRM holds an Open House event at its main campus in Northglenn and invites prospective members and students to learn more about the program, tour the main campus and electrical labs, and see the school in action. IECRM also welcomes current students and contractor members to join in on the apprentice appreciation celebration during the Open House event. This year, IECRM welcomed 90 high school students in for a tour of the main campus in Northglenn, an overview of what it takes to become an electrician, and hands-on experience with pipe bending, innovative technology, circuitry, and more. The students enjoyed learning about our school; many have electrical careers in mind for the future.

IECRM hosts several Career Fairs throughout the year to bring in quality candidates to help our members fill open positions within their company. IECRM added a 5th Career Fair during National Apprenticeship Week this year due to popular demand for another hiring event. A total of 12 electrical companies, each hiring to fill multiple positions, participated in the hiring event.

To help promote the Career Fair and to gain access to quality job candidates, IECRM sponsored 99.5 The Mountain’s Project Sanctuary Radiothon and was invited to a special live radio interview on Veteran’s Day during the morning drive time! IECRM supports transitioning veterans with opportunities in the electrical industry. Thank you to Paul Lingo, US Navy Veteran, and IECRM Training Director, and Nick Bruer and Tom Syltie, both Veterans working for Encore Electric, for taking time on Veteran’s Day to be interviewed about IECRM and the electrical industry! Each Day Apprenticeship was Celebrated!

Every evening, Monday-Thursday, November 14-17:
4-5:30 pm: We welcomed and celebrated IECRM apprentices as they arrived to class. Lots of hot dogs, chips, cookies, and beverages were hungrily consumed.
6-8:30 pm: Hands-on Tool demos in the lab were conducted during students’ classes. Plus a special discount on IECRM logo gear was available for sale to students to sport their school pride.

Thank you to the IECRM Industry Partners who participated in the Expo: ABB, AIS, Casey Bergquist, IDEAL,  I-Pro Martin, Milwaukee, QED, Rexel, & Southwire

Thank you to our sponsors for the Food & Beverages for our Apprenticeship Appreciation: ABB, Carlton Electric, I-Pro Martin, and Southwire

Thank you to Emily Griffith Technical College for donating cupcakes for our apprentices.

Looking ahead to next year, visit the Department of Labor’s website around all things apprenticeship.  Check it out here: https://www.apprenticeship.gov/

IECRM and our members’ mission is to educate, promote, and advance the electrical industry. Apprenticeship is an ‘earn-while-you-learn’ training model that combines work-based learning with classroom training. At IECRM, we educate over 3000 licensed electricians and apprentices annually.

IECRM Self-Pay Tuition Policy

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company must register and pay through the member company using the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process in order to qualify for member rates.

Self-pay students that are employed with a member company but that do not register and pay through the member will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who are employed with a member company and require a payment plan will not qualify for the member rate and will be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

Self-pay students who do not work for a member company will continue to be charged the non-member rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.

To maximize association/membership benefits, ALL member companies are encouraged to register and pay for all enrolled apprentices utilizing internal payment arrangements and processes between employer and employee.

We value our IECRM members and apprentice community. We encourage all apprentices to be enrolled in the four-year apprenticeship program, earning, and learning their way toward Journeyworker licensure. We encourage all members to utilize the member discount for tuition, books and applicable fees to ensure the long-term support and success of the next-generation electrician.

(Payment Plans are available, please reference the Self Pay Payment Plan Policy.)

Self-Pay Payment Plan Policy

We offer the following arrangements for students that are unable to pay in full at the time of registration.

● Self-pay students will be charged the non-member rate.
● A 50% down payment of total semester tuition, books and applicable fees are due at registration.
● Remaining balance can be divided up to 3 additional monthly payments ($10.00 processing fee applies on each installment)
● All payments that are declined will incur a $20.00 NSF fee.

We encourage all students who are employed with a member company to work with their employer to register and pay through the IECRM Flashpoint Enrollment Portal/Process. This will ensure the student is paying the lowest possible rate for tuition, books and applicable fees.
