IECRM Apprenticeship Program: Upcoming Registration and Tracking Student Progress
The Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) apprenticeship program has become an essential foundation for aspiring electrical professionals to develop their skills, gain certification, and advance their careers. With the upcoming registration period right around the corner, employers must be well-prepared for the process. This article will guide you through the registration steps and show you how to effectively monitor student progress, ensuring that apprentices stay on track for graduation and certification.
1. Upcoming Registration for the IECRM Apprenticeship Program
IECRM’s apprenticeship program offers a comprehensive curriculum that provides in-depth training for those pursuing a career as an electrician. This 4-year program combines hands-on learning and theoretical knowledge, preparing students for real-world challenges in the electrical industry. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming registration period:
- Registration Timeline: IECRM 2nd semester early bird registration opens November 25th, with the enrollment period closing on Friday, December 20th.
- Eligibility and Requirements: Apprentices should be at a minimum of 70% to be registered for the next semester. Once grades are finalized, they must meet all four points of passing listed below.
- Overall semester grade is 70% or better
- Final Exam is 70% or better (retakes will be allowed for eligible students, emails will be sent directly to the student)
- Attendance is 72 hours for the semester

Be sure that your student is eligible to return for 2nd semester and have all payment information before beginning the registration process to avoid delays.
2. How to Track Student Progress Effectively
Monitoring the progress of an apprentice is essential for success, especially for employers who want to ensure that their apprentices are gaining the required knowledge and meeting program requirements. IECRM provides a number of tools and resources to help students and employers keep track of this progress effectively.
IECRM’s Online Employer Portal
The online employer portal (Flashpoint) is the primary resource for students and employers to monitor program progress. Accessible 24/7, the portal provides insights into each student’s educational achievements, course grades, attendance, and compliance with curriculum requirements. Here’s how to use it:
Log in to the Employer Account: Employers can access the IECRM online portal (iec.flashpoint.xyz) using their assigned login credentials. This portal is a hub where employers can view their grades, attendance records, and overall program status.
Review Attendance and Grades Regularly: Attendance is crucial in the IECRM apprenticeship program, as it ensures students are gaining the classroom hours needed to be eligible for licensure. The portal allows you to review attendance records, which can highlight any gaps that need addressing. Grades are also updated in real-time, so students and employers can monitor academic performance and address any areas that may require improvement.
How to: Check Student Grades & Attendance
You can check student schedules under the Enrollments grid and filter by class. See the pictures below.
- Grade, attendance, and schedule reporting: This can be found In the Enrollments grid.
- You will not be able to register an apprentice who has not met the four points of passing after grades are finalized. What is passing?
- Overall semester grade is 70% or better
- Final Exam is 70% or better (retakes will be allowed for eligible students, emails will be sent directly to the student)
- Attendance is 72 hours for the semester
- OJT/Work Reports submitted for the semester
Employer-Sponsored Check-Ins
Employers are encouraged to set up regular check-ins with apprentices to review progress and set goals. These one-on-one meetings can include:
- Review of Monthly Reports: Review monthly performance and attendance reports to gauge the apprentice’s understanding and development.
- Set Short-Term Goals: Establishing achievable milestones for the next phase of training, such as completing missed homework assignments or improving in a particular area.
- Provide Mentorship and Guidance: These sessions also give apprentices the opportunity to ask questions, seek guidance, and learn more about industry practices from experienced mentors.
As registration for the second semester approaches, IECRM employers have a great opportunity to prepare for the journey ahead and leverage the tools that IECRM provides to track and optimize student progress. By registering on time and actively monitoring progress through Flashpointl, employers can ensure steady advancement toward school completion and career success.
