To earn the official title of “Journey Worker Electrician,” the State of Colorado requires an individual to complete a minimum of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training as an electrician’s apprentice and 288 hours of classroom training before taking the licensing examination. IECRM’s 4-Year Apprenticeship Training Program. IECRM’s earn-while-you-learn training model eliminates the debt of a traditional 4-year degree, allowing you to get the training and experience required for licensure all while working in the field full-time with steady pay raises commensurating with your growth and skills. Graduates of the IECRM 4-Year Electrical Apprenticeship Training Program that have received their 8,000 hours of on-the-job training will be eligible to test for a journey worker electrician license and will have earned up to 42 college credits toward an associates degree at a Colorado Community College and up to 53 college credits towards a bachelor’s degree at CSU Global. Those that pursue higher education and use the credits earned toward their degree will see an average cost savings of up to $20,000.
