Certifications: Cost Containment
This post is written by Troy Bridges of Pinnacol Assurance.
In today’s economy, companies are constantly looking for ways to save money and reduce overhead. With the Colorado Cost Containment Certification (CCC), companies have the opportunity to not only improve their safety culture and program, but can save on their workers’ compensation insurance premium. The CCC program involves creating a safety program specific to the organization and gives companies a foundation on which to build a strong safety culture. The key to the program is the creation and implementation of six steps and demonstrating that the organization has maintained the program for at least a year. The six steps to the CCC program are as follows:
1. Management Commitment
2. Designation of a Safety Coordinator or Safety Committee
3. Written Safety Program
4. Employee Training
5. Designated Medical Providers
6. Claims Management
