Benefit of the Month: Workforce Development
IECRM is dedicated to the workforce development of the energy and electrical industry and has developed initiatives to support our members and address the growing demand for workers. We respectfully ask that you adhere to the core values of the association – Integrity, Competency, Respect, Service, and Collaboration – and refrain from recruiting employees from each other. Please utilize the programs, projects and partnerships we have developed in addition to your own hiring strategies for engaging workers into the industry.
- Job Board: Please visit iecrm.org/jobs to post your job openings on our online job board.
- Help our members attract quality candidates: Through a series of Career Fairs hosted by IECRM at no cost to our members, we help you meet job seekers face-to-face, in-person (when applicable), and online.
- Media & Advertising: Getting the word out about the unique apprenticeship program and the great electrical job opportunities is crucial. We invest in both paid advertising and earned media, such as this Channel 7 story and this online article, on behalf of our members.
- Hire List: contains applicants available for employment. All have been through the interview process and are listed according to their numeric rating based on an interview with our training committee.
- Experienced Hire List: contains experienced IEC graduates available for employment, with their experience level noted.
- Borrowed Worker Program: When a contractor has a surplus of good people that he/she would like to keep when work is slow, they can be offered to other contractors as part of a short-term lending program. Notification can be made through the IECRM office or directly to a Contractor wishing to utilize the program. IECRM has a template agreement that can be shared for your customization and use.
- Partnerships with Adams County Workforce Center and other regional workforce centers along with partnerships with schools and pre-apprenticeship programs that refer candidates to IECRM.
