A Recap of the Electrical Career Fair Hosted by IECRM on July 28, 2022
Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) – the leading association for the electrical and renewable industry in Colorado and Wyoming & the largest IEC Electrical Training Program in the U.S., held its second of three Electrical Career Fairs on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at its main campus in Northglenn, CO. IECRM hosts a series of career fairs in the Spring and Summer each year and heavily promotes the hiring events far and wide by advertising on radio, digital online ads, social media, and through press releases to our local news networks and more! IECRM contractor members receive a free booth at the event as part of their association membership benefits. Not a member? Sign up or learn more about IECRM membership benefits at iecrm.org/membership.
Graduates of the 3-week IECRM Pre-Apprenticeship Program – AMPLIFY are the prime candidates for hire as they have received electrical 101 and have been OSHA-10 and CPR certified. As a benefit of participating in the 3-week program, AMPLIFY graduates had exclusive access to the career fair for the first hour of the event before it opened to the public.
Here is a recap of July’s Career Fair:
- A total of 22 Electrical contractors were hiring for all levels
- 56 of the 90 job seekers that registered prior to the event attended
- 2 contractors hired 8 on the spot during the event
- A total of 75 applications were collected, and 35 interviews were scheduled
Here’s what our members are saying about the Career Fair:
“I wanted to let you know that my team and I were very impressed with yesterday’s career fair. We have attended a number of these events over the years, and our team felt this was the best to date! Please pass along our kudos for a job well done to the entire IECRM team.” said Lindsey Cox of 1st Electric.
“The event was great; we have participated in a few others this year that did not compare. Great Job IEC!” said Dustin Willis of Barnes Electrical Contracting.
The critical labor shortage of skilled electrical and renewable energy workers – men, women, minorities, and military veterans – is impacting the industry and its future growth. Workforce development continues to be a main focus of the association, assisting its contractor members in recruiting, training, and retaining a quality workforce.
The next Electrical Trade Career Fair is scheduled for Thursday, August 18, 2022, to be held online from 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm. REGISTER NOW!
