6th Annual IECRM Holiday Event Draws Over 80 Energy Professionals from the Rocky Mountain Region

More than 80 electrical and energy professionals gathered at AMF Lanes in Northglenn, CO for the 6th Annual Members Holiday Party, hosted by the Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM) (www.iecrm.org). IECRM is the Rocky Mountain region’s premier trade association and educational institution for electrical and energy professionals.

As guests arrived they were welcomed with premium cocktails and networking in a private lounge room. After the welcome reception/cocktail hour, bowlers and non-bowlers gathered at the lanes and spectator area with colleagues, friends, family, and new acquaintances to form teams and enjoy a smokehouse barbeque dinner that was prepared by AMF’s onsite culinary chef “Lucky”. Bowlers had the option to bowl traditional or “funky style” as they competed for prizes and awards. Funky style which consisted of a silly rule for each of the 10 frames  – bowl with your opposite hand, bowl through your teammate’s legs, etc.  – was a big hit among members and made for a fun team building experience.

IECRM is grateful to the sponsors of the event: Allcable, Inc.; CRS Insurance Brokerage; Eaton Electrical; and Xcel Energy for underwriting the Welcome Reception, BBQ dinner, bowling shoe rental, and dessert buffet.

The night’s photographer, Jen Pan, of Jepanic Productions volunteered her time to capture candid moments of guests having a great time including posing for an Ultimate Mannequin Challenge that will be remembered for years to come. Afterwards, guests enjoyed desserts and cocktails in the lounge room. Balistreri Vineyards kindly donated two of their signature wine baskets to this event for a drawing. Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar and Comedy Station 103.1 donated various items for the bowling awards including concert tickets to “Fitz and the Tantrums.”

Awards were distributed to the following winners:

Teamwork Award – The team with the highest score: The Northern Group

Strike Them Out Award – The bowler with the highest score:  Josh Williford with The Northern Group

Strike It Rich Award – The person with the most strikes: Keith Bovee with AIS Industrial and Construction Supply

Turkey Award – 3 strikes in a row: Keith Bovee AIS AIS Industrial and Construction Supply

Just Kidding Award – The team with the lowest score: 1st Electric Contractors

Best Dressed Award – The person/team with the ugliest holiday sweater: Keith Bovee with AIS Industrial and Construction Supply

Notable companies that attended the event were: 1st Electric Contractors, IES, The Northern Group, and Weifield Group Electrical Contracting. A total of 32 of the region’s companies attended the event.

“We had an impressive turnout for this year’s holiday party,” said IECRM CEO Marilyn Stansbury. “With the holiday season in full swing, and people’s time at a premium, seeing our room filled with energized professionals was heartwarming. I was excited to hear about the numerous business plans, meetings, and jobs already being scheduled for 2017. We eagerly anticipate a successful new year!”

IECRM would like to extend a warm Thank You to the guests that donated presents to Toys for Tots, a charitable program founded by the US Marine Corps Reserve. The toys will be delivered to economically disadvantaged children throughout the holiday season.
